Hello Jens,

Thanks for writing about OtherInbox on your blog. The TC50 conference in San Francisco earlier this month was a great forum to launch our new service to the public and we were really honored to be chosen to participate. We'd like to invite you to join our private beta that we announced at the conference, and we're happy to extend the invitation to your readers as well! Because we're in private beta, you need to have a special URL to sign up. This URL will work for 26 invitations (one for you and 25 for your readers) if you want to post as a followup on your blog.

Please let us know if you have any questions about the service. Thanks again!

Great read - great summary. No need to make it shorter, if you can find the time to write.

Also watched some presentations last night from the live-stream - and was also amazed at the somewhat mediocre presentation quality in front of THAT audience and after THAT selection process...

Speaking of selection process: I'm wondering about the quality of some ideas. Is that really the finest 50 out of 1000+ companies ? Was expecting more AI, more SaaS ideas - e.g. in the corporate session. otherinbox & yammer as the best ideas in that group, hmm - what else ?

what do you think of the overall quality of ideas this year? Also, are they going to publish something like a list of 50-runner-ups , so we can see what else was there ?

Best regards from warm & sunny Berlin ;),

"Mobile" is Session 7 tomorrow afternoon - I will cover in in my summary.

In the meantime - the following PDF from TechCrunch gives an overview of all sessions and a brief of the companies presenting:
http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/09/08/official-techcrunch50-program-pdf/

P.S.: Most people paid to attend TechCrunch50 - between $2,000 and $3,000 - and only part of the audience got in for free. Therefore they should provide a working WiFi network. According to several people LeWeb in Paris had working WiFi (for over 1,000 attendees) and great food last year (http://www.lewebparis.com/).

Very Good wrap up of the first day for people who not attending the conference. But what about the mobile startups - was there anything interesting? Btw. when I attended a conference in NY there also was no wifi for the audience - you had teh chance to pay for it there for nearly $500 a day - maybe thats a new business mopdel - selling wifi access at conferences :-)

PS: The E71 from Nokia is sold out (not everywhere but in Saturn and Media Markt) - so Nokia doesnt need that "Hype" for selling their phones :-)
